Reyes return boosts Arsenal
Date: 20-02-2006 23:11
Jose Antonio Reyes has handed Arsenal a boost by declaring himself fit to face Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The Gunners forward has spent the past week recovering from a dreadful two-footed challenge by Bolton's Abdoulaye Faye, which left him with heavy bruising to his lower leg and ankle.

JOSE REYES However, Reyes is determined to face the club he has been consistently linked with for the past year in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie at the Bernabeu.
He has travelled to Spain as part of an Arsenal squad that numbers just 18 players because of an injury crisis at Highbury.

Robin van Persie, Dennis Bergkmap, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Gael Clichy, Pascal Cygan, Lauren and Kerrea Gilbert all stayed in London because of injury problems, while Emmanuel Adebayor is cup tied.

Among a number of young players included in the travelling party is Theo Walcott, who is yet to make his Arsenal debut following his big-money January move from Southampton.
